Morbid Angel - Gateways to Annihilation
(this cd kicks ass. Go buy it now.) The new album! This is heavier than 'Formulas...'. They went to a more death metal sound than that of their previous attempt. Much more brutal. It kind of reminds me of Domination, in a way. (which is a good thing in my eyes.) Definitely worth the cash
October Tide - Rain Without End
This is a side project for Jonas Renske and Fredrik Norrman of Katatonia. This cd sounds like 'Brave Murder Day', only heavier. Plus, Jonas does the growls, instead of Micke. As a reference, this came out between 'Brave Murder Day' and 'Discouraged Ones'. Definitely good.
Paradise Lost - Mouth
Paradise Lost's newest e.p. A glimpse at things to come for when 'Believe In Nothing' comes out later this month. This e.p. has alot more guitar to it than Host did, which im sure will make alot of people happy. It has more of a "rock" sound to it. Warning: open minds only

new cd reviews:
'The Haunted Made Me Do It' [the haunted]
Im diggin it. This album shows a more refined sound, with tighter riffing all throughout the cd. It is also the appearance of their new vocalist, Marco Aro, of the now-defunct Face Down. In my opinion he is better than Dolving. He has more of an edge (scream) to his voice, which i think is better suiting to the music.
I suppose it shows a departure from the stereotypical 'gothenburg' sound, but that does not mean that it is not good. Of course, if you dont believe me, then listen to this.
If that doesnt make you wanna buy it, then nothing will.
'The Height of Callousness' [spineshank]
If you are like me, then you thought 'hey, these guys are pretty good live, i should by the cd'. Then you get home, and its like, 'hey this aint bad'. Its not the greatest cd you own, but they got potential. Well, then they released 'the Height of Callousness'. Is this the same band? this album kicks ass.
Ill never need to listen to the first album again! The music is all around better. The vocals are better, the guitars sound better, the songs are constructed better. The keyboards are better. Are you sensing a trend here?
